When you visit us, you’ll find that we’re not a typical church. Our sermons are not planned weeks in advance. Our meetings are not planned out minute by minute. We are committed to being sensitive to what God is doing today. We spend a lot of time in prayer and worship before our meetings as we wait on God’s leading for the direction we should take. It would be a lot easier to plan a meeting that goes like clockwork. People have been doing that for years. We’ve decided to live on the edge – willing to adjust our agenda to discover what needs to happen today. We are engaged in a quest for the “radical middle” – an openness to follow the Holy Spirit as long as it is backed up by God’s Word. The Bible is our final authority for all that we do. And one of the things it says to do is to trust God to guide us. We are continually amazed at how faithful He is to do just that as we release our need to control things! |
